A private nursery in Wales has been closed after children were found to be infected with E coli, it emerged yesterday.
A spokesman for the National Public Health Service for Wales said no link had been established or ruled out between the Puffins nursery in Brecon, which is attended by 54 children, and the outbreak in south Wales which has affected 163 people and led to the death of a five-year-old. Parents of children at the Brecon nursery are being contacted by environmental health officers.
The nursery will be disinfected and children will return only when tests show they are clear.
